Nanning, the"Green City", is well known for its tropical weather and abundancegreen foliage. Nanning Creative Industries is designed as a focal point for thenew economic development zone of Guangxi, Nanning. Our design spans 8000 squaremeters of interior space, including design of the urban landscape and buildingfacade renovation.

For the renovationof the building facade, we abstracted the iconic Guangxi scenery into pixelatedcolor swatches, designed to stimulate creative and collaborative energy whileharmoniously blending the iconic landscape into the working environment. TheGuangxi scenery continues into the urban landscape through the furniture andfloor treatment creating a cohesive setting with the facade.

The NanningCreative Office’s primary concept is creating possibilities for users to meet,connect and exchange ideas with each other, producing opportunities for smallcompanies and inducing new ideas in larger companies. The idea is inspired tobreak out of the traditional office culture and create more public areas topromote interaction amongst users.

Through the designconcept, we have developed both public and private working spaces to suit tothe needs of companies varying in scales and also working classes of differentlevels. Hence, we have integrated different office modules, including openworkspace, private office, office space of four, and more, creating flexibleoffice space to cater for companies with different setups.

In terms ofmaterials, we have chosen plywood and OSB as the main material, keeping closeconnections to the nature and utilizing the wood grain texture against chosenvibrant colours to bring out a relaxing ambiance to lighten the stressfulworking environment, which in turn can induce higher efficiency amongst users.
