2016 Beijing Design Week: Baita Temple Design and Construction House
September 22, 2016 - DAMU Design's “Baita Temple Design and Construction” is a fusion of knowledge from grassroots to amateur practitioners and professionals. The Baita Temple Recycling Program debuted during the 2015 Beijing International Design Week. Based on the historical hutong block of Baita Temple, the project combines public participation, architecture and infrastructure upgrades to integrate design thinking and cultural and creative ideas into the urban renewal plan in a gentle way.
The overall project of the Baita Temple Recycling Program will present two core knowledge creation centers around the “Urban Learning and Sharing Future”, combining a series of related initiatives with the Baita Temple area and local residents, as well as the end of the design week. The event started the prelude. The event will be presented in the selected regional space, and the Baita Temple Recycling Program team will work with a group of long-term partners to plan the event, bringing specific public plans and newly created projects to the area.
At the same time, the Baita Temple Recycling Program will also allow people to rethink how to use the design to conduct a fruitful dialogue on the social and infrastructure conditions of the historic district.
